Current advancements in home automation and power management are more powerful on hardware-based control systems, with a significant emphasis on Internet of Things technologies. These IoT systems typically interface with cloud-based services, facilitating user interaction and data exchange through cloud communication. Moreover, wireless communication methods have evolved, enabling seamless end-to-end interactions within these environments. However, direct hardware-to-hardware communication presents ongoing research challenges, particularly in terms of complexity and reliability in a multi-device context. In contrast, software-level communication, especially within the domain of multi-agent systems, offers a robust alternative. In general, multi-agent systems more supports on agent-to-agent interactions, employing various communication strategies including cluster, peer-to-peer, and broadcasting methods. These approaches have established themselves as effective and reliable techniques for managing complex interactions. This paper presents a software layer designed for hardware devices, transforming them into a cohesive multi-agent system. This system is implemented using the MaSMT multi-agent development framework and connects hardware devices to a central database, which acts as a hub for message passing and coordination among agents. This integration showcases a significant leap in managing and automating home environments, demonstrating the potential of multi-agent systems in simplifying and enhancing hardware-based power management solutions.
