Problems faced by staff and patients in Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital due to the existing system and how to overcome those problems
Abstract
The current situation in Sri Lanka is facing
various difficulties for the patients as well as the hospital
staff. In the past, due to the Covid-19 virus situation in the
country, the patients, as well as the hospital staff, faced
various difficulties. This study is based on the current
traditional paper-based system’s problems and solutions
for the problems of Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, the
main hospital in Anuradhapura District, Sri Lanka. Due to
this current system, the hospital staff, as well as the
patients, are suffering greatly during the Covid-19 season
and in the face of this fuel shortage. The information for
this study was found through a Google form. And the
hospital staff as well as the patients have participated
in this study. This study cites 7 main problems in the
current system. Compared to other countries, Sri Lanka
still does not seem to go beyond traditional practices.
But the purpose of the researcher is to find a technical
solution to solve the problems. This study mainly studies
the current funding issues in the Anuradhapura Hospital
and possible solutions from an IT perspective. It is an
automated web- based software. The software can solve
the existing problems in the system. Also, the researcher
has provided 12 features that the web-based software should have.
Following these, how to solve the existing problems will be
found in this study.
